Learning Log 2 – Crafting a Compelling Business Case

Significant Experience: I attended the LIHNN funded training day on business case development led by Amanda Stearn

What Happened?: This was a day long session that was focused on all the fundamentals of developing an effective business cases within the NHS. It looked at what they should and shouldn’t entail – key messages to hit/sections to have (including Risks, timings, resources etc) in it, importance of SMART goals and objectives

So What?: This course has been really useful in highlighting the fundamentals of a business case, and although it is a different process for my organisation, much of the learning is transferable.

Now What?: I will now use my learning from this event to develop a business case for a new piece of software that will improve the effectiveness of my team in supporting the organisational objectives.
